Information Technology Infrastructure Engineer

Job Description

Responsibilities:

Project Delivery & Execution

Ensure project deliverables on the technical kickoff, planning, execution monitoring and closure for assigned projects deployments.

Install, configure, hardening, verification and commission servers, storage, network devices, operating systems, application software and management tools.

Oversee the day-to-day operation of the servers, networks, related infrastructure and services.

Monitor, troubleshoot and remediate issues impacting the operation of the installed systems and infrastructure to ensure the highest level of service availability.

Maintain quality documentation on area of responsibility.

Work on activity planning and implementation for new setup.

Develop and/or review technical solutions in support of pre-sales/deal pursuit, as needed.

Stakeholder Communication

Maintain strong relationships with sales, presales, engineering, vendors, and customer stakeholders.

Provide structured and timely reporting to both internal and external stakeholders.

Lead UAT and final sign-off discussions with customers.

Technical Oversight (in collaboration with engineers)

Oversee high-level design (HLD) and low-level design (LLD) reviews.

Participate in MOP review, testing, and commissioning processes.

Ensure documentation handover and operational readiness.

Compliance & Standards

Ensure adherence to ISO9001 and ISO45001 processes.

Maintain quality and timely milestones for project scope of work.

Requirements:

Education & Certification

Degree in Computing, Computer Science/Engineering or IT.

Relevant technical and professional certifications are preferred (or working towards it).

Technical Knowledge

Hands-on experience with system infrastructure technologies:

Operating Systems:

Windows Server (AD, DNS, DHCP, GPO)

Linux distributions (RHEL, CentOS, Ubuntu)

Virtualization & Compute

VMware vSphere/ESXi, vCenter

Microsoft Hyper-V

KVM

Cloud and Hybrid Infrastructure

Azure / AWS / Google Cloud basics

Cloud VM deployment, storage, networking

Identity management (Azure AD, IAM)

Hybrid cloud integration & migration concepts

Storage Technologies:

SAN, NAS, DAS concepts

Storage arrays (HPE, Dell EMC, NetApp, etc.)

RAID levels, LUN provisioning, zoning & masking

iSCSI, Fibre Channel

Backup & Recovery

Backup software (Veeam, Commvault, Veritas, etc.)

Backup policies & retention strategies

Disaster recovery planning and testing

Replication & failover technologies

Added advance in experience with network infrastructure technologies: IP networking, routing (OSPF, BGP, MPLS), switching (STP/RSTP, VLAN), Wi-Fi, and QoS.

Added advance in experience managing network/security appliance deployments (Firewalls, IPSec, VPNs, Load Balancers, IPAM, DNS, PAM, DDoS, etc).

Experience on automation scripting (PowerShell, Bash scripting and Infrastructure automation tools Ansible, Terraform— good to have)

Familiarity with UAT, MOP, and network documentation standards.

Tools & Methodologies

Familiar with PM tools: MS Project, Excel, Visio, Google Workspace.

Exposure to automation or generative AI is a plus.

Soft Skills

Strong stakeholder engagement and negotiation skills.

Problem-solving & analytical thinking.

Communication skill to to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Ability to manage multiple projects deliverables, while prioritizing on urgency and milestones.

Comfortable working outside office hours when required.

Proven delivery track record for telcos, government agencies, or enterprise customers.

Experience in full start to closure project delivery.

Familiarity with project commercials.
