Azure Cloud Engineer (Platform Engineering)

Our client is seeking a Cloud Platform Operations Engineer with strong experience in Microsoft Azure to support the design, operation and continuous improvement of secure and reliable cloud environments.

Key Responsibilities

Design, implement and manage secure cloud infrastructure on Microsoft Azure, in line with government policies, security standards and frameworks such as IM8 and Zero Trust.

Oversee contractors managing cloud-hosted application systems, ensuring high availability, performance, reliability and operational stability.

Support and enhance CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices to enable efficient and reliable application deployments.

Implement and manage monitoring, logging and observability solutions to proactively identify and address system issues.

Manage incidents, problems and changes in accordance with ITIL processes, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis and implementation of preventive measures.

Ensure cloud platforms and systems comply with security, governance, risk and audit requirements.

Plan and execute change management activities, ensuring operational changes are properly assessed, documented and implemented in accordance with governance requirements.

Requirements

At least 4 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure cloud environments.

Experience in cloud infrastructure, platform operations and production support.

Familiarity with CI/CD, DevOps practices and deployment automation.

Experience with cloud monitoring, logging and observability tools.

Knowledge of ITIL-based incident, problem and change management.

Understanding of cloud security, governance, compliance and audit requirements.

Experience working in government or regulated environments will be good to have.
