Metal Trader

We are supporting a senior leadership hire within a global commodities platform, focused on the metals value chain. This position sits within a business development function and has regional to global scope, reporting directly to senior management.

What you will be doing:

You will lead and oversee metals trading activities across both physical products and derivatives, with responsibility for driving commercial performance while maintaining strong risk discipline. The role includes managing a small specialist team and working closely with internal stakeholders across trading, risk, operations, legal, and finance. You will play a key role in business development, identifying new counterparties, supply chains, and structured trading opportunities, while contributing to strategic planning and budgeting in line with regional and global objectives. The role also involves active engagement with external partners and maintaining a strong market presence through industry relationships and market intelligence.

What we are looking for:

You should bring a minimum of 15 years' experience in the commodities trading business, with deep exposure to metals across multiple products. Experience operating across Asia Pacific and/or global markets is required. You will have a proven track record in senior commercial or trading leadership roles, with strong people management capabilities and sound judgement in risk and governance matters. Candidates available at short notice will be advantageous, though not essential.
