Technician (Fiber Optics)- Fiber Loop Assembly - Singapore

This role encompasses assembly and testing operations across multiple specialisations: Laser Assembly, Fiber Loop Assembly, and Cleanroom operations. You will perform mechanical, electrical, and optical assembly and testing, working with precision equipment and ESD-sensitive components. The role requires hands-on technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to work within strict quality and safety standards.

Key responsibilities

Perform mechanical, electrical, and optical assembly and testing operations

Handle laser diode assembly, alignment, and testing with proficiency in die attach and component placement

Execute fiber bonding, sealing, curing, and optical alignment processes for Fiber Loop Assembly

Perform lens cleaning and assembly in cleanroom environments according to customer requirements

Conduct electrical and electronic testing according to test instructions

Manage ESD control on assemblies with ESD-sensitive components

Perform bulk and intricate cleaning of parts and assemblies

Complete relevant electronic records and data entry in spreadsheets or process control systems

Carry out training of fellow employees according to company training and work instructions

Contribute to continuous improvement by recommending and implementing preventative and corrective measures

About you

NITEC / Higher NITEC / Diploma in Engineering, Manufacturing, Electronics, Precision Engineering, or related field

Experience in laser diode handling and assembly

Skilled in die attach and component placement

Proficient in epoxy dispensing and curing processes

Experience in Fiber Loop Assembly manufacturing and assembly processes

Proficient in fiber stripping, cleaning, cleaving, and handling of delicate optical fibers

Competent in fiber collimation and optical alignment to meet product performance requirements

Able to perform fiber polishing and end-face inspection using microscopes and inspection equipment

Able to interpret electrical schematics and understand test instructions

Attention to detail and competent in recording data in spreadsheet or process control system
