Job Summary

This role supports migrating, upgrading, configuring, troubleshooting, and administering database platforms in production and non-production environments while ensuring IT compliance adherence.

Responsibilities

Create and configure new databases and database networks following established guidelines for structure and file layout

Review and enhance database scripts and procedures to improve transaction and log management

Maintain and execute regular database maintenance schedules to ensure optimal performance

Monitor backup, recovery, and replication processes to confirm successful completion

Perform disaster recovery for critical systems and rebuild production or DR servers as needed

Analyze and tune database performance through SQL query optimization, indexing, and partitioning

Document daily system checks and provide status updates to relevant stakeholders

Report monthly on database size, uptime, and performance metrics

Review, update, and document database administration and operational procedures regularly

Execute any other ad-hoc duties as assigned to support database operations

Required competencies and certifications

Degree or diploma in Computer Science, Computing, Electrical Engineering, IT, or equivalent

Experience in system administration for enterprise database environments

Strong understanding and practical use of SQL and PL/SQL programming

Familiarity with IT compliance standards such as CIS across technical environments including Windows and Linux

Ability to analyze and resolve database-related problems quickly and effectively

Effective verbal and written communication skills to document and report database status and issues

Preferred competencies and qualifications

Knowledge of Oracle Linux and database intrusion detection technologies

Familiarity with shell scripting to automate database tasks

Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Oracle Certified Master (OCM) in Oracle Database

Other relevant certifications in database management and administration

Other Information

Work Week: Monday to Friday (8:30 AM - 6:00 PM)

Work Arrangement: Full Onsite - West Central Region

Salary: S$7,000-S$10,000 (with guaranteed and variable bonuses)
