Position Summary

The Application Engineer (Electrical) is responsible for providing strong systems engineering expertise across systems design integration activities throughout the product lifecycle.

This role focuses on defining requirements, designing and integrating products and systems, performing technical analysis, resolving complex technical issues, and verifying products, physical systems and functional systems to ensure compliance with performance, safety, quality and regulatory requirements.

The role works closely with customers, internal engineering functions and cross-disciplinary teams to deliver robust, integrated electrical and system solutions.

What You Will Be Doing

Provide sound technical knowledge in Systems Design Integration, taking ownership of system-level engineering activities

Define, manage and flow down system, functional and physical requirements, ensuring full traceability across products, systems, sub-systems and components

Design and integrate electrical and multi-disciplinary systems, ensuring alignment with product architecture and system interfaces

Lead and support problem resolution activities, including root cause analysis, technical investigations and corrective actions across the product lifecycle

Perform technical analysis to assess system performance, integrity, safety, compliance and reliability

Support and execute verification and validation activities, ensuring systems and components meet defined requirements and standards

Verify products, physical systems, functional systems and components through structured reviews, testing and analysis

Support change management activities, including technical assessments, design approvals and engineering governance processes

Collaborate effectively with cross-functional and extended engineering teams, which may be geographically distributed

Communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including customers

Ensure adherence to Rolls-Royce engineering standards, quality requirements and regulatory frameworks

Position Requirements

Education / Work Experience / Skills

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering or a related engineering discipline, or equivalent practical experience

Experience working in systems engineering, application engineering or system integration roles, ideally within complex engineered products or power systems

Strong understanding of systems engineering principles, including requirements management, design integration, verification and lifecycle engineering

Experience in technical problem solving, root cause analysis and structured investigation methodologies

Knowledge of electrical systems, control systems, power systems or integrated product systems is strongly preferred

Exposure to product integrity, safety, quality, certification or regulatory frameworks is an advantage

Ability to work effectively in structured engineering environments with defined governance and processes

Strong analytical, logical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage ambiguity

Effective communication and stakeholder management skills
