Database Engineer DBA / MongoDB - SCIENTEC CONSULTING PTE. LTD.

We are looking for an experienced Database Administrator (DBA) with strong hands-on expertise in MongoDB administration and database performance tuning . The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining reliable, secure, highly available and high-performing database environments supporting business-critical applications.

Working Hours: Mon-Fri

Working Location: Central (on-site)

Salary Package: Up to $7,500 (basic) + AWS +VB

Key Responsibilities

Administer, configure, maintain and support MongoDB databases across development, testing and production environments.

Monitor database health, availability, capacity and performance to ensure stable operations.

Perform database performance tuning , identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks, slow queries and resource constraints.

Analyse and optimise queries, indexes, execution behaviour and database configurations to improve application and database performance.

Configure and manage MongoDB Replica Sets and sharded environments to support high availability and scalability.

Perform database installation, configuration, upgrades, patching and migrations.

Develop and maintain appropriate backup, restore and disaster recovery (DR) procedures.

Troubleshoot database incidents, outages, replication issues and performance degradation, including root cause analysis and preventive actions.

Conduct regular database health checks and capacity planning to support future growth.

Implement and maintain database security, authentication, authorisation and access controls.

Support application releases, deployments and database changes while minimising production impact.

Automate routine database administration and monitoring activities using scripting where applicable.

Work closely with application developers, infrastructure, cloud and DevOps teams to troubleshoot issues and improve database performance.

Maintain database configurations, operational procedures, technical documentation and support runbooks.

Provide production support and participate in standby/on-call support where required.

Requirements

Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related discipline.

Relevant experience in Database Administration , preferably supporting enterprise or production environments.

Strong hands-on experience with MongoDB administration .

Good understanding of MongoDB architecture, Replica Sets, sharding, indexing and replication .

Strong experience in database performance monitoring, troubleshooting and performance tuning .

Experience analysing and optimising slow queries, indexing strategies and database resource utilisation .
