Staff Software Engineer – Full Stack

We are looking for a

hands-on Staff Software Engineer

to build and enhance high-performance visualization tools for large-scale, high-dimensional data. You'll work closely with scientists and engineers to turn complex data into intuitive, interactive experiences used by both development teams and field users.

Key Responsibilities

Design and develop scalable

web and desktop visualization applications .

Build new visualization features and maintain existing production software.

Develop high-performance front-end and back-end systems and microservices.

Diagnose performance, scalability and usability issues.

Build automated integration, unit and test frameworks.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable, user-focused solutions.

Apply AI-assisted development tools and build AI-driven visualization interfaces.

Requirements

7+ years

of professional software development experience.

Strong experience with

Angular/React, TypeScript, WebGL, WebAssembly and CSS .

Strong backend experience with

Python and/or C# , microservices and APIs.

Experience with

Electron or similar desktop/web technologies .

Experience handling large datasets and performance-sensitive applications.

Proficiency with Git/SVN and software engineering best practices.

Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as

GitHub Copilot or Cursor .

Strong communication, ownership and collaboration skills.

Nice to Have

Python visualization libraries and scientific/bioinformatics data experience.

Experience with streaming or high-throughput datasets.

Experience maintaining widely deployed or legacy software.

Customer-facing or field application experience.

Education:

BS/MS in Computer Science, EE, Bioinformatics or related field.
