Successful candidates will join a multi-disciplinary team of scientists and engineers developing quantum capabilities. The goal is to translate cutting-edge, quantum sensing technologies into robust solutions for defence applications. At the Quantum Sensing Programme in DSO, successful candidates will work alongside highly motivated colleagues, collaborate across local and overseas quantum communities to unlock the power of quantum sensing.
People are DSO’s greatest asset. You will get to realise your career aspirations and develop your own niche either as a deep technical expert or a leader in the team. With frequent career dialogues and a robust training and development framework, we will provide you with the necessary development tools for you to reach your potential. You will also be recognised and rewarded through competitive remuneration packages and scholarship opportunities.
High Power Electromagnetics Engineer
In this role, you will:
Develop and integrate robust quantum sensors for inertial or electromagnetic sensing
Design and develop sensor subsystems such as optical traps, electronics, magnetic field controllers, or vacuum and cryogenics for quantum sensor
Undertake systems development with scientists, software engineers, and users to ensure successful transition of lab devices into sensor payloads
PhD / Masters / Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering Science, Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Optics or Photonics
Experience in any of the following: analog/digital electronics, RF electronics, power electronics, lasers, optics, high vacuum, or cryogenic experiments
Knowledge or experience in quantum physics is preferred but not essential
Working proficiency in a programming language (e.g. Python, MATLAB)
Team player and self-driven learner
