The Opportunity: Forward Deployed Engineer
We are seeking a highly motivated and curious engineer to join our Singapore team. This is a critical, client-facing role — but more than that, it's for someone who genuinely
cares
about understanding how the tech world works, beyond just their specialty. If you read broadly, follow the AI and IoT landscape, and have opinions about how physical systems should be built, monitored, and improved — we want to hear from you.
Who You Are
You're an engineer with 3+ years of hands-on experience, but what sets you apart is your
breadth . You actively follow tech trends, you read and explore beyond your job description, and you have a working understanding of AI and IoT — not just as buzzwords, but as real tools that solve physical-world problems. You know that the best solutions don't live in one domain. You're curious about automation, sensors, edge computing, LLMs, real-time data pipelines, and how they all fit together in a live production environment. You update your mental models constantly — through reading, building, and experimenting. You communicate clearly because you've learned to translate between what a client needs and what the system can do.
What You'll Do: Key Responsibilities
As a Forward Deployed Engineer at Hiverlab, you'll bridge the gap between our technology and enterprise clients' real-world operations:
Deep Customer Embedding
— Work side-by-side with client teams. Understand their constraints, data, and operational challenges. Become a trusted technical advisor who speaks their language.
System Design & Implementation
— Design and build full-stack AI systems, custom data pipelines, and API integrations. Turn AI models into production-ready applications that deliver measurable outcomes.
AI Deployment & Optimization
— Ensure AI agents work flawlessly in the field. Troubleshoot, refine, and tune models to meet specific client requirements and performance benchmarks.
Technical Troubleshooting
— Be the last line of defense for complex, high-stakes production issues. Solve problems that nobody else has figured out yet.
Feedback Loop Acceleration
— Collect field insights and technical challenges from customer implementations. Feed them back to our product and engineering teams to keep improving.
Cross-Functional Leadership
— Bridge software engineering, data science, and customer consulting. Align technical solutions with business goals through clear communication and genuine domain understanding.
Common Qualifications
Strong proficiency in Python, Java, JavaScript, or similar languages
Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and CI/CD pipelines
Solid understanding of AI/ML frameworks and data infrastructure
Must-have: Active curiosity about AI, IoT, and the broader technology landscape
— demonstrated through reading, side projects, or continuous learning
Must-have: Comfort discussing physical systems
— sensors, automation, digital twins, or related domains
Preferred Skills
(aligned with our digital twin focus) :
IoT
— experience with sensor integration, edge devices, real-time data acquisition from physical systems
Computer Vision
— familiarity with image processing, object detection, or spatial analysis pipelines
ROS (Robot Operating System)
— hands-on experience with robotics middleware, simulation environments, or autonomous systems
3D Technology
— working knowledge of 3D modeling, point clouds, Unity/Unreal, or 3D visualization tools
Experience with digital twin platforms or IoT integrations is a significant plus
