Cloud Engineer

Responsibilities

Design, deploy, configure, and manage cloud infrastructure and services.

Monitor cloud environments to ensure availability, performance, and reliability.

Perform routine maintenance activities, including patching, upgrades, backups, and system updates.

Troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure, connectivity, and performance issues.

Support infrastructure automation and configuration management initiatives.

Use scripting and automation to improve operational efficiency and reduce manual tasks.

Monitor system logs, alerts, and performance metrics and address potential issues proactively.

Implement and maintain cloud security controls, access management, and data protection measures.

Support security assessments, vulnerability remediation, and compliance requirements.

Work closely with development, infrastructure, and security teams to support cloud-based applications.

Maintain technical documentation for cloud environments, processes, configurations, and issue resolutions.

Participate in on-call or production support activities when required

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.

2–3 years of experience in cloud operations, cloud infrastructure, or a similar technical role.

Hands-on experience with AWS and/or Microsoft Azure.

Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, deployment, configuration, and resource management.

Understanding of Infrastructure as Code (IaC) principles and tools.

Familiarity with scripting and automation using Python, PowerShell, Bash, or similar technologies.

Experience with monitoring, logging, and alerting tools.

Understanding of cloud security, including access controls, encryption, and security best practices.

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.

Good communication, collaboration, and technical documentation skills.

Good to have: Exposure to Python libraries such as Pandas and PySpark, R programming, and frameworks such as React or Flask.

Cloud certifications such as AWS Cloud Practitioner or Microsoft Azure Fundamentals are an advantage.
