PLATFORM ENGINEER

Responsibilities

Design and build

developer platform capabilities and 'golden paths'

to improve consistency, quality, scalability, and engineering productivity.

Develop and maintain cloud-native applications and infrastructure solutions using modern software engineering practices.

Drive and review

technical architecture and system design , ensuring adherence to architectural standards and best practices.

Promote engineering excellence through

TDD, CI/CD, automation, code quality, and continuous improvement .

Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues, perform root cause analysis, and maintain platform stability.

Collaborate with developers, architects, product teams, business stakeholders, project managers, and other engineering teams.

Analyse requirements, estimate effort, plan delivery timelines, and track technical progress.

Mentor and influence engineers by promoting best practices and leading through hands-on technical contribution.

Communicate complex technical concepts effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Identify, manage, and mitigate technical and delivery risks while ensuring solutions meet quality and compliance standards.

Work in Agile environments such as

SAFe, Scrum, or Extreme Programming

and support iterative, fast-paced delivery.

Requirements

3–6 years of hands-on software development experience

with strong knowledge of system design and scalable architecture.

At least

3 years of experience managing cloud environments and delivering infrastructure/platform solutions .

Strong programming experience in

Java, Spring Framework, TypeScript, and React .

Strong understanding of

object-oriented programming, functional programming, design patterns, data structures, and algorithms .

Experience with

HTTP, modern web application architecture, REST/API concepts, Git, and version control workflows .

Strong knowledge of

CI/CD pipelines, automation, release management, TDD, and Continuous Delivery .

Hands-on experience with

Linux and shell scripting .

Strong knowledge of

Kubernetes (K8s), cloud-native technologies, and Open Policy Agent (OPA) .

Working knowledge of

Kafka, messaging systems, event-driven architecture, and asynchronous processing .

Strong debugging, problem-solving, root cause analysis, and production support skills.

Experience in

stakeholder management, Agile delivery, effort estimation, and project coordination .

Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in ambiguous, fast-paced, and high-pressure environments.

Ability to independently lead technical initiatives, challenge existing approaches, and drive innovative solutions.
