JOB DESCRIPTION
Understand the project and client’s contractual requirements and scope of work.
Clarify scope of work and supply to form the contract basis with client.
Support the Project Management Team on process deliverable schedule updates.
Prepare process philosophies, including control and shutdown, isolation, sparing, P&ID, vent, relief, and flare load calculation philosophies.
Develop process simulation heat and mass balances (H&M sheets).
Prepare process flow diagrams (PFD), utility flow diagrams (UFD), piping & instrumentation diagrams (P&ID), cause and effect diagrams, and safeties charts.
Perform equipment sizing calculations for separators, vessels, storage tanks, line sizing, hydraulic analysis, and flare network design.
Prepare and review technical queries and assist the Lead Engineer in concluding technical queries with the client.
Conduct process studies, such as dynamic depressurization studies.
Prepare reports, including process system design reports, vent and drain reports, and utility summaries.
Develop process datasheets for mechanical equipment and instruments.
Coordinate with other disciplinary departments regarding process inputs.
Perform inter‑disciplinary checks and provide input to other discipline engineering deliverables, such as ME List (MEL), electrical load lists, topsides weight reports, mechanical and instrument datasheets, and other critical philosophies.
Review vendor documents and provide comments to ensure the vendor design aligns with project requirements.
Update third‑party specialist, process, and safety studies; review study reports and attend workshops.
Assist the Lead Engineer in managing interfaces with hull and marine systems such as cargo and utilities.
Provide input to operating manuals, pre‑commissioning and commissioning manuals.
Attend project meetings as required (intra‑discipline, client, inter‑discipline, SCM, subcontractor, vendor, 3rd party) to assist the Lead Engineer in addressing and clarifying engineering issues and progress, and follow through with meeting actions.
Assist the Lead Engineer in identifying all client comments and communications to ensure client requirements are implemented, and provide feedback to project management and commercial teams, raising trends and potential change orders as necessary.
Support project process engineering through after‑engineering kick‑start, detail engineering, as‑built engineering, pre‑commissioning, commissioning, and warranty test runs as required and per project needs.
Collect, analyze, and maintain process design data to support feasibility studies and prepare tender/construction documents, basic and detailed design drawings.
Assemble engineered submittal manuals/booklets, including drawings, schematics, documents, reports, and calculations, and provide copying support for contractors and customers.
Liaise with package engineers to obtain updated information, maintain process design submittal filing systems in the engineering reference library.
Prepare process design project training manuals and owner’s manuals for on‑site training to contractors and customers.
Monitor and follow up on changes updated by junior team members on operational process project drawings and records, as well as compile lessons learned during project execution.
JOB REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or related engineering disciplines.
Ten years of design working experience in the offshore industry.
Experience in FEED and EPC engineering, preferably in FPSO industry.
Ability to multi‑task and work effectively in a fast‑paced environment.
