Java Full-stack Engineer

We are looking for a Java Full-stack Engineer based in Singapore to develop, maintain and support enterprise applications in a highly regulated environment.

The role requires strong Java backend skills, working knowledge of React, hands‑on deployment experience, and the ability to troubleshoot production issues and participate in technical discussions with clients.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs using Java and Spring Boot.

Develop and troubleshoot database queries and integrations to support application functionality and performance.

Maintain and enhance React components, including integration with backend APIs.

Support application deployment and troubleshooting using GitLab CI/CD, Docker and Kubernetes.

Configure, integrate and troubleshoot API gateways and reverse proxies.

Investigate production issues, analyse application logs, identify root causes and implement fixes.

Remediate vulnerabilities in application code and dependencies, and verify that the implemented fixes resolve the identified issues.

Participate in and, where required, lead technical discussions with clients to clarify requirements, explain issues and recommend solutions.

Required Skills and Experience

Strong hands‑on experience with Java, Spring Boot and RESTful API development.

Solid database and SQL experience, including data integration and troubleshooting.

Working knowledge of React and frontend integration with backend services.

Hands‑on experience with GitLab CI/CD, Docker and Kubernetes.

Experience with API gateway and reverse proxy technologies, such as Nginx.

Ability to support production issues through log investigation, debugging and root cause analysis.

Experience with application and dependency vulnerability remediation.

Good spoken English, with the ability to communicate clearly with clients and explain technical concepts effectively.

Preferred Experience

Hands‑on experience with Axway API Gateway or similar enterprise API management platforms.

Experience supporting Singapore government or public‑sector projects, or other highly regulated environments.

Exposure to Government Commercial Cloud (GCC), Government Data Centre (GDC) and/or OpenShift Container Platform (OCP) environments is a strong advantage.
