Responsibilities

Maintain high availability and reliability of databases

Perform daily Health Check, database maintenance and database security self-assessment.

Perform database creation, configuration and migration, apply patches and technology upgrade to keep the databases at supported level

Database Capacity Planning

Ensure that the database assets and systems are managed in accordance with the security policies and standards [This includes Account Reviews]

Responsible for documenting database related policy, architecture and design artefact.

Provide technical expertise and solutions based on user requirements for database-related project.

Requirements

Experience in supporting Oracle Database environments PROD/DR/DEV/QA/UAT

Strong experience in Database Administration in Oracle version (11g/12c/18C/19C)

Experience in supporting high availability Oracle RAC environment (2/3/4 node clusters), Oracle Golden Gate, Oracle Data Guard

Experience in troubleshooting and resolving database integrity issues, performance issues, blocking and deadlocking issues, connectivity issues, security issues

Strong Knowledge in Operating systems like windows and Unix

Generating reports in Oracle database using tools like AWR, ASH, ADDM and manual scripts.

Provide continuous monitoring, troubleshooting, historical and real time performance monitoring of the Oracle.

Strong Experience of RMAN, expdp/impdp, Backup/Recovery

Experience in evaluating and installing new software releases, patches, upgrade and Database cloning

Experience in developing and executing database security policies, procedures

Daily health monitoring of database system and data integrity checks

Collect and analyse database performance information, identify and implement solutions for performance problems

Experience with other RDBMS, NO SQL, cloud platforms will be added advantage

Good communication skills English (written, spoken) and Documentation skills for processes and procedures (creating KBs, runbooks, topology)

Work with users, vendors to take timely and appropriate steps to resolve and troubleshoot issues impacting service levels and conduct root cause analysis

Certifications

AWS Certified Database – Specialty (required).

AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate (required).

Oracle Certification
