MSL Engineer (Materials Surface Analysis)

Key Responsibilities

Conduct validation, evaluation and characterisation of media, media processes and related components using surface analysis techniques.

Develop and enhance surface analysis methodologies to verify design compliance and reliability margins.

Analyse evaluation and failure analysis results and prepare technical reports.

Collaborate with process owners, engineers and project teams to identify improvement opportunities.

Support and coordinate laboratory activities to ensure timely completion of analysis requests.

Manage and maintain surface analysis laboratory equipment, including preventive maintenance and vendor coordination.

Liaise with external laboratories for specialised analytical services when required.

Ensure compliance with quality, safety and ISO requirements.

Support continuous improvement initiatives within the R&D function.

Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Engineering or a related discipline.

Experience

Fresh graduates are welcome to apply.

Candidates with experience in materials analysis, failure analysis, surface characterisation or semiconductor/HDD-related industries will have an advantage.

Skills & Knowledge

Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

Effective communication skills in English.

Knowledge of laboratory evaluation and characterisation techniques.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Strong attention to detail and results-oriented mindset.\

Working Environment

Research & Development laboratory environment.

Cleanroom work is required.

Hands-on involvement with advanced analytical and characterisation equipment.
