Software Engineer (Spring Boot / AWS)

Job Description

We are looking for a

Software Engineer

to build and operate cloud-native digital services supporting secure data exchange and enterprise application workflows.

This is a hands-on role covering both

software development and production operations

. You will work across backend development, APIs, cloud infrastructure, system integrations, deployments, monitoring, incident support, and DevSecOps.

Job Type: Contract

Salary Package: Up to $10,000 (basic) + AWS

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, deploy, and operate

cloud-native applications and services on AWS

.

Build and enhance backend applications using

Java and Spring Boot

.

Develop and maintain modern web applications using

JavaScript / React / Next.js

.

Design and implement

RESTful APIs

and system integrations across internal and external platforms.

Support secure data exchange through

APIs, SFTP, message queues, and other integration channels

.

Perform data mapping, transformation, validation, and integration across connected systems.

Build and maintain AWS services using technologies such as

API Gateway, Lambda, ECS/EKS, and managed cloud services

.

Provision and manage cloud infrastructure using

Terraform and Infrastructure-as-Code practices

.

Support application deployments, monitoring, incident investigation, troubleshooting, and production recovery.

Maintain and improve

CI/CD and DevSecOps pipelines

, automated testing, security controls, and engineering quality.

Work with relational databases such as

PostgreSQL, AWS Aurora, or Oracle

.

Support onboarding of new interfaces and integrations, including infrastructure and application configuration.

Collaborate with Product Managers, engineers, vendors, and external stakeholders to deliver features and integrations end-to-end.

Identify opportunities to automate repetitive operational activities and reduce manual support effort.

Apply

AI-assisted development tools and workflows

to improve engineering productivity where appropriate.

Contribute to architecture discussions, technical standards, code reviews, and engineering best practices.

Requirements

Strong hands-on experience with

Java and Spring Boot

.

Experience building and operating

cloud-native applications on AWS

.

Hands-on experience with AWS services such as:

API Gateway

Lambda

ECS / EKS or other containerised platforms

Cloud-based databases and integration services

AWS certification at Associate level or above

is required.

Experience developing modern frontend applications using

JavaScript, React, or Next.js

.

Strong understanding of

RESTful API design and system integration

.

Experience with secure file transfer such as

SFTP

.

Familiarity with messaging technologies such as

AWS MQ, ActiveMQ, RabbitMQ, or Amazon SQS

.

Experience with relational databases such as

PostgreSQL, AWS Aurora, or Oracle

.

Hands-on experience with

Terraform / Infrastructure as Code

.

Working knowledge of

CI/CD, Git-based development, automated testing, and DevSecOps practices

.

Good understanding of

software architecture, system design, security, and testing principles

.

Comfortable taking ownership of solutions from development through deployment and production support.

Good to Have

Experience with

event-driven or message-based architectures

.

Experience with workflow engines, state machines, or business-process orchestration tools.

Experience using

AI coding assistants, coding agents, automated code review, or agentic development workflows

.

Exposure to integrating

LLMs, RAG, or AI capabilities

into software products.

Experience working on secure government, regulated, enterprise, logistics, trade, or transaction-processing systems.

Exposure to enterprise API platforms, digital identity platforms, or secure inter-system integrations.

Experience working in Agile or product-based engineering teams.
