Software Development Engineer

**Position Overview** We are looking for a passionate and motivated Software Development Engineer I to join the Product Data Management (PDM) engineering team in Singapore. The PDM team develops and maintains Autodesk's Product Data Management solutions, supporting customers worldwide in managing engineering design data across distributed environments. Our products include desktop and web applications, cloud services, file and database replication technologies, SDKs, CAD integrations, and enterprise-scale solutions. As a P1 Software Development Engineer, you will work alongside experienced engineers to design, develop, test, and maintain software features while building your technical expertise in enterprise software development. **Responsibilities** • Develop, test, debug, and maintain software features under the guidance of senior engineers• Participate in feature implementation based on functional and technical specifications• Write clean, maintainable, and well-tested code following engineering best practices• Collaborate with Software Engineers, Quality Assurance Engineers, UX Designers, and Product Managers throughout the development lifecycle• Assist in troubleshooting defects and resolving production or customer-reported issues• Participate in code reviews and continuously improve coding skills through feedback• Contribute to technical documentation and knowledge sharing• Learn and adopt Agile development practices, engineering standards, and modern development tools Key Skill Areas Software Engineering Fundamentals • Demonstrate strong programming fundamentals and problem-solving skills• Understand software design principles and coding best practices• Build an understanding of software architecture and component interactions.• Develop maintainable, reliable, and testable software Systems Thinking • Learn how product components interact within larger applications and services• Understand basic concepts of scalability, performance, and reliability• Analyze issues methodically and seek guidance when required• Develop awareness of dependencies and system impacts AI-Assisted Development • Use AI-assisted development tools responsibly to improve productivity• Validate AI-generated code and recommendations before implementation• Participate in implementing AI-enabled product features following defined specifications• Understand the importance of testing, safety, and responsible AI practices Quality and Continuous Learning • Develop unit tests and support automated testing efforts• Participate in bug fixing, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement activities• Learn from production feedback and engineering reviews to improve software quality• Stay current with emerging technologies and software engineering practices **Minimum Qualifications** • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline• 0–2 years of software development experience (including internships or academic projects)• Knowledge of object-oriented programming principles• Knowledge of C# and .NET• Knowledge of web and cloud development domain• Experience in React, Node.js and similar technologies• Basic understanding of SQL and relational databases• Familiarity with source control systems such as Git• Understanding of software development lifecycle and Agile methodologies• Good analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills• Demonstrated willingness to learn and collaborate within a global engineering team **Preferred Qualifications** • Exposure to cloud platforms or cloud-native application development• Familiarity with Docker or container technologies• Knowledge of front-end technologies such as React or Angular• Exposure to automated testing frameworks• Basic understanding of software performance analysis and debugging• Familiarity with Autodesk products (Inventor, AutoCAD, Revit) or similar CAD applications is a plus
