Application Support Engineer (Manufacturing / Automation Systems)

Responsibilities:

Design, maintain, and enhance Shop Floor Automation (SFA) applications and system components

Provide 24/7 Level 1 & Level 2 support

to ensure smooth operation of production lines

Troubleshoot and resolve system and application issues in a timely manner

Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to improve system performance and availability

Gather user requirements and develop new automation solutions, particularly for Equipment Manager systems

Prepare and maintain technical documentation for system enhancements and processes

Plan and conduct user training for assigned applications

Support continuous improvement initiatives, including productivity enhancements and cost reduction projects

Requirements:

Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related disciplines.

Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in Semiconductor, Manufacturing, or High-Tech production environments

Experience in supporting factory automation or manufacturing systems

Proficiency in SQL (Oracle preferred)

Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot under pressure

Good communication skills and ability to work both independently and in a team

Preferred Skills:

Experience with Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES)

Knowledge of SECS/GEM (SEMI Equipment Communication Standards)

Familiarity with TIBCO (TIB/RV) messaging systems

Experience in equipment or factory automation systems

Prior experience in a semiconductor fab environment is an advantage

Work Environment:

On-site role in a high-technology manufacturing facility

May require after-hours or on-call support to support production operations
