Forward Deployed Engineer

Job Description

We Are Hiring | Forward Deployed Engineer | Singapore

About ReN3

ReN3 is a sovereign AI platform for the enterprise, built to unify an organization's knowledge and let teams execute AI-powered work under strict governance and access control. The platform runs in air-gapped, private-cloud, or other sovereign environments, so sensitive data never leaves the client's own infrastructure. ReN3 works with government, banking and financial services, insurance, healthcare, manufacturing, and construction clients, and partners with major infrastructure and cloud providers on deployment.

About the Role

We are looking for a Forward Deployed Engineer to join our ReN3 Software Engineering & Development team. You will own the last mile between ReN3's core product and a working, production-grade deployment inside the client's environment — including fully air-gapped, network-isolated infrastructure with no outbound internet. This is a hands-on, high-ownership role for someone who thrives on solving complex technical challenges, working directly with clients to address real-world problems, and taking solutions from initial design through to live deployment. You'll be expected to work independently in demanding environments, troubleshoot issues effectively, and communicate technical solutions clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Deploy, configure, and operate ReN3's platform inside client environments — including fully air-gapped, network-isolated infrastructure with no outbound internet

Build and maintain backend services (Node.js or Python) that integrate ReN3's core product with client-specific systems, data sources, and workflows

Design and troubleshoot event-driven, microservices-based integrations — message queues, service-to-service contracts, async workflows, failure handling

Own deployment reliability: package dependencies for offline installs, manage version drift across environments, build repeatable deployment runbooks

Work directly with client engineering/IT teams on-site to unblock integration issues, gather requirements, and iterate on fixes in near real time

Feed field learnings back into the core product roadmap

Maintain security and compliance discipline appropriate to sovereign/regulated deployments

What We're Looking For

Must-have

Singapore Citizen or Permanent Resident (Category 1 clearance required)

Minimum 5+ years of experience in AI and Software Engineering

Bachelor's Degree required

Strong backend engineering skills in Node.js or Python

Solid understanding of microservices architecture — service boundaries, API design, inter-service communication, versioning/deprecation strategy

Practical experience with event-driven architecture (EDA) — message brokers (Kafka, RabbitMQ, NATS, or similar), pub/sub patterns, eventual consistency, idempotency, retry/backoff design

Comfortable debugging distributed systems with limited tooling and limited/no internet access

Strong communication skills — able to work directly with client technical staff and translate ambiguous requirements into working systems

Nice-to-have

Kubernetes (K8s) experience — deploying, operating, and troubleshooting workloads in a cluster, ideally in constrained or offline registries

Prior experience deploying software into air-gapped or highly regulated environments (defence, government, finance, critical infrastructure)

Familiarity with observability stacks (Prometheus/Grafana, ELK, or equivalent) adapted for disconnected environments

Experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Helm) for repeatable offline deployments

What You'll Get

Direct ownership of deployments that matter — sovereign AI infrastructure for real enterprise/government clients.

High autonomy, trust and variance work — every deployment environment is different.

Close collaboration with ReN3's founding team on product direction shaped by real field feedback
