Senior Back-end Java Developer (Spring Boot, Microservices)

We are seeking a

Senior Java Developer (Spring Boot, Microservices) in Singapore. You will build and support Java 21 microservices for banking platforms, shaping API design, resilience and secure coding. Join a cross-functional Agile team where quality gates and automation are part of how you ship.

Responsibilities

Design and build Java 21 microservices using Spring Boot

Deliver REST APIs and integrations with internal and external systems

Drive service and API design, data modeling and technical decisions

Implement resilience patterns, validation, security and transaction handling

Build persistence layers using Spring Data JPA and Hibernate

Create unit and integration tests and improve test coverage

Improve code quality using automated checks and peer reviews

Partner with DevOps to deploy and support services on OpenShift

Requirements

Java 21 expertise including recent long-term support versions (Java twenty-one on this project)

Spring Boot capability across the Spring Framework ecosystem

Microservices architecture knowledge including distributed systems fundamentals

REST API development experience including integration design

Spring Data and Spring Data JPA skill sets for persistence

Hibernate or equivalent Object-Relational Mapping (ORM) experience

SQL proficiency with a relational database such as Oracle, MySQL, MariaDB or PostgreSQL

Containers exposure with OpenShift or Kubernetes plus Git and build tooling (Maven or Gradle)

Nice to have

Spring Cloud, Apache Kafka or RabbitMQ

Observability tools such as OpenSearch, Elastic Stack, Grafana or AppDynamics

Banking or financial services domain exposure
