Software Engineer, Intern

What you'd do:

- Participate in team discussions, decisions, and the technical design process.

- Write production software with meaningful impact on Stripe's business and users.

- Give and receive technical feedback through code reviews or design discussions.

- Collaborate with engineers and cross-functional stakeholders to incorporate feedback proactively.

- Learn quickly, communicate work status clearly, and build using latest AI tooling.

What they want:

- Pursue Bachelor's or Master's in computer science, math, or related discipline.

- Demonstrate programming experience through side projects or classwork across common languages.

- Bring internship or multi-person project experience with mentor and peer feedback.

- Learn unfamiliar systems through independent research and mentorship from subject experts.

- Use AI tools with critical thinking to review, refine, and validate outputs.

Nice to have:

- Have at least one year of university education or equivalent work experience.

- Hold specialized frontend, backend, or infrastructure knowledge balanced with general skills.

- Write high quality pull requests with good test coverage and minimal defects.

- Navigate and manage work across new codebases using multiple programming languages.
