Data Architects

Role Overview We are looking for AWS Data Architects / Engineers to support the development of a cloud-native data platform and Data Lake/Lakehouse environment. You will be responsible for designing, developing and maintaining scalable data infrastructure that supports analytics, reporting and AI/ML initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement AWS Data Lake / Lakehouse architecture , including data landing, transformation and consumption layers.

Develop scalable data ingestion pipelines using AWS Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, EventBridge and API Gateway .

Build batch and streaming data processing workflows using AWS data services.

Develop and maintain data transformation pipelines and the AWS Glue Data Catalogue .

Implement data security, access controls and governance using AWS Lake Formation, IAM and Secrets Manager .

Monitor pipeline performance, troubleshoot data issues and improve platform reliability.

Optimise AWS data platform performance and cost efficiency.

Maintain technical documentation, architecture decisions and operational procedures.

Requirements

Minimum 4 years of experience in data engineering, data architecture or cloud infrastructure.

Strong hands-on experience with AWS data services , particularly: Amazon S3 | AWS Glue | Amazon Redshift | AWS Lambda | AWS Step Functions | Amazon EventBridge | Amazon Kinesis | AWS Lake Formation

Strong SQL skills and proficiency in Python or Scala .

Proven experience designing and implementing Data Lake or Lakehouse architectures .

Good understanding of data governance, data cataloguing and metadata management .

Experience with batch and streaming data processing .

AWS Certified Data Engineer, AWS Solutions Architect or equivalent certification.

Preferred

Experience integrating data with Tableau or other BI tools .

Exposure to AWS SageMaker / MLOps / AI/ML deployment .

Experience with Salesforce integration via AWS AppFlow .

Knowledge of Change Data Capture (CDC) and incremental data loading.

Public sector or large-scale enterprise data environment experience.
