Network Infrastructure Architect

DRW-NX is looking for a talented Network Infrastructure Architect to join our NSO team (Network Services and Operations). You will play a critical role in building, automating, and ensuring the reliability of some of the most cutting-edge low latency infrastructure in the world.

You Will

As a Network Infrastructure Architect for DRW, you will have two main mandates:

Supporting our global infrastructure with a focus on low latency including:

Providing operational support for our global wireless and wired high-performance network environments

Diagnose and solve network related issues and outages

Proactively identifying enhancements to existing configurations, technologies and procedures to improve performance

Operating and provisioning monitoring and telemetry systems where applicable

Contributing to the documentation of network processes, systems and configurations

Participate in network change and code reviews

Work on team and department projects such as:

Automate our network provisioning and operation

New network, colocation or path onboarding

New telecom link delivery

New monitoring solutions

New automation projects

Liaise with our internal project team and external service providers for maintenance support

Automate repetitive tasks and day to day network processes using scripting and automation

What You'll Bring To The Team

At least Three to Five years of experience in network automation

Able to write code and implementation automation using existing framework such as ansible

Will to learn wireless technologies and low latency networking

Knowledge of switching, routing, WAN, LAN, and datacenter network architectures

Good understanding of Linux (Boot sequence, services, processes, network and kernel)

Ability to deploy and operate a monitoring framework such as Cacti, Zabbix, Nagios, Prometheus or Tick stack

Excellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills

Proven ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities

Ability to work independently and be part of a global team

A high level of energy and a passion for creativity and innovation

The flexibility to participate in the rotating weekend maintenance schedule

Excellent verbal/written communication skills and documentation/knowledge management skills

Bonus Points For

Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer science, Software Engineering or similar

CCNP or JNCIP certification (R&S or similar)

Experience working on automation (Python, Ansible/Puppet/Salt etc.)

Experienced in Python, Go or similar coding language

Experience with point-to-point wireless networks and knowledge of RF principles

Experience working on low latency or trading networks

Hands on experience working with containers or pods (docker or Kubernetes or similar)

Hands on experience with cloud services (AWS)

Firewall experience (Checkpoint, FortiGate, Palo Alto etc.)
