Data Analysis Engineer (HDD)

Responsibilities:

Lead data analysis efforts for both customer and internal teams focused on H-M Matching and HDD optimization

Isolate and evaluate the impact of Head and Media components on HDD performance

Identify Key Process Input Variables (KPIVs) and Media Parameters affecting HDD pass rates, error codes, and defect rates

Develop predictive models for HDD performance during media development using KPIV/Parameter matrices

Collaborate closely with R&D teams to communicate analysis results and findings

Support RTV failure analysis (FA) and work with internal teams on root cause identification and corrective actions

Requirements:

Degree in Engineering, Science, or related field Masters degree is a plus

Minimum 1 year experience in the HDD industry

At least 2 years experience in data analysis or similar function

Strong data analysis and critical thinking skills

Ability to interpret complex analytical results

Adaptable to changing priorities and fast-paced environments

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for cross-functional collaboration

Proficient in analysis software such as Minitab, Tableau, Spotfire, JMP, R, or equivalents

Competent in Microsoft Office

Preferred but not required: knowledge of Python, SQL, Macros, or other programming languages

Familiarity with Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing, and Design of Experiment (DOE) methodologies is advantageous
