Desktop Engineer – Automation & Scripting

We are looking for a Desktop Engineer with strong troubleshooting, scripting and automation skills to provide end-user IT support while identifying opportunities to automate repetitive tasks and reduce manual administrative work.

The successful candidate should have a good understanding of scripting and automation concepts, with hands-on experience in Command Prompt, Batch scripting and VBScript. Knowledge of AI and digitalization tools, as well as the ability to develop practical automation solutions, will be an advantage.

Job Description

Provide desktop and end-user IT support, including troubleshooting hardware, software and Windows-related issues.

Develop and maintain scripts to automate routine IT and administrative tasks.

Use Command Prompt, Batch files and VBScript for automation and deployment activities.

Identify repetitive processes and recommend automation solutions to reduce manual work and improve efficiency.

Support IT digitalization initiatives, including the use of AI-assisted tools and automation techniques.

Troubleshoot and enhance automation scripts based on operational requirements.

Document automation processes and provide technical support to users and IT teams.

Requirements

Diploma or equivalent qualification in IT, Computer Science or related field.

Experience in Desktop Support / Desktop Engineering or a similar IT support role.

Knowledge of Batch scripting, VBScript and Command Prompt.

Basic understanding of programming and scripting logic.

Interest or experience in automation, AI and digitalization will be an advantage.
