Job Summary

We seek a Technical Support Engineer for a permanent night shift (12am-9am) to provide expert-level support in Business Continuity and Disaster Recovery, resolving complex technical challenges and ensuring excellent partner experience globally from Singapore.

Responsibilities

Deliver expert-level technical support via phone and email to resolve partner issues efficiently

Independently manage and prioritize a ticket backlog to ensure timely resolution of technical problems

Lead troubleshooting efforts for partner issues involving data backup, recovery, virtualization, storage, and networking to restore service continuity

Perform advanced data restores, virtualization of backups, and execute cloud failovers to maintain business continuity

Collaborate with support team members to escalate and resolve complex cases, ensuring continuous case progress

Required competencies and certifications

Demonstrated 5+ years of experience in technical support, systems engineering, or IT infrastructure roles focused on backup and disaster recovery

Proven ability to work independently under high-pressure customer situations, including disaster recovery scenarios

Strong analytical, diagnostic, and troubleshooting skills applied to complex technical issues

Effective communication skills to manage high-priority incidents and maintain partner confidence under pressure

In-depth knowledge of image-based backups, cloud failover, and recovery testing methodologies

Extensive experience with Windows Server (2012 and later), Ubuntu Linux, and virtualization technologies such as KVM/libvirt, VMware ESXi, and Microsoft Hyper-V

Strong understanding of networking protocols including TCP/IP, VPN, DNS, DHCP, and NAT

Relevant certifications such as MCSE, VCP, and Network+

Preferred competencies and qualifications

Exposure to ZFS file systems, Linux-based storage appliances, and storage technologies including ZFS, RAID, iSCSI, and SMB

Familiarity with scripting and automation using PowerShell, Bash, or Python
