Data/BI Analyst (PowerBI)

The Opportunity

The Data Analyst (PowerBI) position is a part of the Global IT Department, which is directly overseen by the Group’s CIO. Our team currently comprises over 40 IT, software, and data professionals primarily based in Shanghai and Moerdijk (the Netherlands). With our IT presence in Singapore rapidly expanding, we are excited to invite you to join our team!

Job Responsibilities:

Respond to user requests to modify our existing PowerBI resources (~10 workspaces, ~30 semantic models, ~100 dashboards); create new PowerBI resources when necessary.

Use SQL and statistical techniques to analyze historical datasets, uncover trends, detect anomalies, and support data-driven decision-making.

Design and develop PowerBI dashboards, semantic models, and KPI definitions that serve global business needs across operations, finance, and commercial functions.

Contribute to the continual improvement of our internal data models; build and maintain SQL data models and transformations on top of the data marts provided by data engineering (Azure Databricks).

Regularly audit data quality across our PowerBI resources and underlying data models.

Maintain strong documentation practices and encourage knowledge sharing across teams.

Requirements:

2+ years SQL experience, including data modeling and transformation work

2+ years PowerBI experience

Comfortable communicating across technical and non-technical audiences; able to translate business needs into data solutions

Professional fluency in English

Professional fluency in Mandarin is an added advantage to effectively liaise with Chinese-speaking counterparts.

Highly motivated, with a proactive approach to project ownership and accountability for outcomes and timelines

Desirable Qualities:

Experience with Databricks

Python/Pandas experience

Interest or experience in tank container, chemical shipping, or bulk liquid logistics
