Data Infrastructure / Platform Engineer

We're looking for a hands-on Data Infrastructure / Platform Engineer to build and operate a scalable, secure and highly reliable data platform at Thales.

You'll work across Cloud, Kubernetes, Infrastructure-as-Code and modern Data Platforms , turning infrastructure into a self-service platform that developers and data teams can rely on.

What you'll do:

Build scalable cloud infrastructure using Terraform and GitOps

Design and operate production Kubernetes platforms and distributed systems

Build and manage data services including Kafka, Apache Iceberg, Trino, Airflow and PostgreSQL

Develop self-service capabilities so teams can provision data services without manual intervention

Implement security, governance, RBAC, observability and FinOps across the platform

Define SLOs, improve reliability and lead incident resolution

Drive platform upgrades, automation and continuous improvement

What we're looking for:

Min 5 years of experience in Platform Engineering, Cloud Infrastructure, DevOps or Data Platform Engineering

Strong hands-on Kubernetes experience, including production/stateful systems

Experience with Terraform/OpenTofu and GitOps (Argo CD/FluxCD)

Experience operating at least one of Kafka, Iceberg/Trino/Spark or Airflow

Good understanding of CI/CD, cloud-native security and Linux

Proficiency in Python and either Go or Bash

Experience with Azure is a strong advantage
