Senior Database Engineer -SQL

Our client is a leading institutional bank in Singapore and is looking for an experienced Database Engineer to join their technology team.

A strong background within banking or financial services is essential for this position. We are looking for someone with 8-10+ years of relevant technology experience, strong hands‑on SQL coding capabilities, and experience working within an enterprise financial environment.

This is a fully office‑based role in Singapore, working closely with technology and business teams supporting critical banking applications and platforms.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop and maintain database solutions supporting business and technology applications.

Develop, write and optimise complex SQL queries, stored procedures and database scripts.

Monitor database performance and carry out performance tuning and optimisation.

Troubleshoot database‑related issues and provide effective technical solutions.

Support database enhancements, upgrades, migrations and technology projects.

Work closely with Application Developers, Business Analysts, Infrastructure and other technology teams.

Ensure database solutions meet standards around performance, security, availability and data integrity.

Contribute to continuous improvement of database platforms and engineering practices.

Key Requirements

At least 8 years of relevant Database Engineering / Database Development experience.

Strong banking or financial services experience is essential.

Experience within institutional banking, investment banking, capital markets, asset management or similar financial environments is highly relevant.

Good understanding of relational databases and database architecture.

Experience in database performance tuning, optimisation and troubleshooting.

Experience supporting enterprise‑level applications and technology environments.

Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Good communication skills with the ability to work across technology and business teams.

Willingness to work fully from the office in Singapore.
