ICT Infrastructure Engineer

Job Description

We are seeking an ICT Infrastructure Engineer responsible for enterprise and data center infrastructure operations, including network, systems, virtualization, IDC physical layer, and basic cloud environments.

The ideal candidate will have strong foundational knowledge, hands-on operational capability, and the ability to independently resolve common infrastructure issues while escalating complex architectural problems appropriately.

The position may be offered at

Senior Engineer level , with responsibilities including

solution review, technical leadership, and guidance on project delivery .

Key Responsibilities

Provide daily operational support for enterprise network and server environments

Handle incidents and service requests using structured root cause analysis

Perform routine health checks and basic performance monitoring

Execute change management tasks in accordance with standard procedures

Maintain accurate technical documentation (network topology diagrams, IP allocation records, asset inventory, change logs, SOPs)

Coordinate with L2/L3 engineers or vendors when escalation is required

Network Support (Required)

Support campus and IDC network infrastructure operations

Perform Layer 2 configurations (VLAN provisioning, access/trunk port setup, STP troubleshooting, link aggregation basics)

Apply foundational Layer 3 knowledge (static routing, default gateway troubleshooting, OSPF concepts)

Assist with ACL implementation and access control troubleshooting

Conduct structured network troubleshooting (interface counters, MAC/ARP tables, routing tables, log interpretation)

Understand DHCP/DNS mechanisms and common failure scenarios

Assist with firewall policy adjustments and VPN troubleshooting

Support network device deployment, upgrades, and remediation

Provide foundational support for Windows Server and Linux environments

Perform routine system administration (user/permission management, service monitoring, log analysis, performance checks)

Assist with Active Directory (user/group management, OU basics, domain join troubleshooting)

Perform basic virtualization operations (VM provisioning, resource adjustments, snapshot management, vSwitch configuration)

Understand virtualization fundamentals (hypervisor, host, datastore, resource allocation)

Assist with server installation, OS deployment, and backup verification

Understand IaaS cloud architecture concepts

Familiar with VPC/VNet, subnetting, security groups, IAM basics, cloud VM provisioning

Understand cloud snapshot and backup fundamentals

Assist with hybrid connectivity troubleshooting (e.g., site-to-site VPN)

IDC Structured Cabling & Physical Layer (Basic)

Understand structured cabling architecture (MDA/HDA/EDA concepts)

Familiar with rack-level cable management and labeling standards

Understand copper/fiber classifications (Cat6A, OM3, OM4) and connector types (LC, SC, MPO)

Assist with equipment racking, patch cord management, port labeling, and remediation

Recognize physical-layer faults and their impact on logical network issues

Qualifications

2–5 years of ICT infrastructure experience

Experience in enterprise or data center environments preferred

Strong troubleshooting mindset and structured methodology

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Strong execution discipline and operational awareness

Above standard L1 helpdesk

Expected to independently resolve ~70–80% of routine infrastructure issues

Able to participate in implementation projects

This role provides a clear progression path towards

Senior ICT Infrastructure Engineer or Technical Lead roles .
