Job Summary

Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable Java backend applications while collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver secure, high-performance solutions using modern frameworks and Agile methodologies.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and maintain scalable Java backend applications to meet business requirements

Build and enhance RESTful APIs and microservices using Spring Boot for efficient system integration

Develop high-performance, secure, and reusable backend components to support application scalability

Collaborate with frontend developers, business analysts, and QA teams to deliver high-quality software solutions

Write clean, maintainable, and well-documented code to facilitate future development and maintenance

Troubleshoot, debug, and optimize existing applications to improve performance and reliability

Participate actively in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, code reviews, and retrospectives to ensure timely delivery

Ensure adherence to application performance, scalability, and security best practices throughout development

Required competencies and certifications

Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in Java development

Strong programming experience with Java 8/11/17

Hands-on experience with Spring Boot framework

Experience in developing microservices architecture

Strong knowledge of RESTful API development

Experience with Spring MVC, Spring Data JPA, and Spring Security

Good knowledge of relational databases such as Oracle, MySQL, or PostgreSQL

Experience with Git version control system

Familiarity with Maven or Gradle build tools

Good understanding of Agile/Scrum development methodology

Preferred competencies and qualifications

Experience with containerization technologies such as Docker or Kubernetes

Exposure to cloud platforms including AWS, Azure, or GCP

Knowledge of messaging technologies such as Kafka or RabbitMQ

Experience with CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI

Domain experience in banking or financial services
