Project Engineer (Railway E&M System)

Job Description

Role:

Review project related submission (specification, drawing, test procedure and method statement etc.) and facilitate project team in the following-up to ensure the submission is compliant with project requirement.

Supervise on-site installation, testing and commissioning, interfacing matters, integration testing, punchlist/defect work and handover activity to ensure the quality of work is compliant with project requirement.

Coordinate with project team, contractors, interfacing contractors and other project stakeholders to resolve site issues and clashes to ensure the work is in line with project requirement.

Facilitate project team to monitor the project schedule, update, review and report the project progress to be in line with project timeline.

Attend project related meetings to ensure project delivery is on track.

Supervise site surveys, FO routing verification, cable installation, network equipment installation and testing and commissioning activities.

Facilitate resolution of site constraints, routing conflicts, FO core allocation issues and implementation-related technical matters.

Support the troubleshooting and resolution of network equipment configuration issues, communication failures, network connectivity issues and system integration issues encountered during installation, testing, commissioning and migration activities.

Requirements:

Diploma or degree in Electrical, Electronics, Telecommunications, Computer, Network, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

Relevant project management experience.

At least 3 years in project coordination, site installation, testing and commissioning of rail E&M system, communications network or fibre optic infrastructure in Singapore transit environment.

Relevant experience in coordinating and interfacing with local transit stakeholders (i.e. railway/transit operator) to carry out A&A, system upgrading or new system implementation work at revenue stations.

Familiarity with Permit-to-Work (PTW), Mod Approval, engineering access procedures and stakeholder coordination in railway environments would be an advantage.

Be expected to perform night work or engineering-hours work where required.

Proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, BIM or similar drawing tools for design drawing review.

Highly motivated and pro‑active with the ability to work independently.

Good collaboration and attitude to work with team members.

Ability to cope with flexible working hours.

Be expected to perform night work or work during engineering hours.

Good analytical and problem‑solving skills.

Good communication skills in English.

Be expected to travel regularly between office and sites.
