Senior Cloud Engineer (AWS / Kubernetes)

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced

Senior Cloud Engineer

to join our technology team. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing secure, scalable, and high-performing cloud infrastructure that supports critical software applications and business operations.

You will work closely with development and technology teams to optimise application performance, scalability, reliability, and security, while helping to establish cloud infrastructure standards and best practices across the organisation.

Salary Package: Up to $9,500 (basic) + AWS

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and implement scalable and high-performance cloud infrastructure on platforms such as

AWS and Azure

.

Manage, monitor, and continuously optimise cloud resources to improve performance, reliability, and cost efficiency.

Deploy and manage containerised applications using technologies such as

Docker and Kubernetes

.

Develop and maintain

Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

using tools such as

Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation

.

Monitor infrastructure and application performance, proactively identifying and resolving technical and operational issues.

Manage and support database systems and data storage solutions, including

MSSQL, MariaDB, and NoSQL databases

.

Design and implement solutions for

high availability, resilience, backup, and disaster recovery

.

Collaborate with software development teams to optimise application architecture and cloud deployments.

Configure and manage network security infrastructure, including

next-generation firewalls such as Palo Alto Networks

, to enforce security policies and protect cloud environments.

Implement cloud security best practices and ensure compliance with relevant security and technology standards.

Troubleshoot complex infrastructure, networking, performance, and security issues.

Evaluate emerging cloud technologies and recommend solutions that improve operational efficiency and technology capabilities.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.

At least

5 years of experience in cloud infrastructure engineering or a related field

.

Strong hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as

AWS and/or Microsoft Azure

and their native services.

Experience with containerisation technologies such as

Docker

and managed Kubernetes platforms such as

Amazon EKS or Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS)

.

Proficiency in scripting or automation using

Python, Bash, PowerShell

, or similar languages.

Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as

Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation

.

Strong understanding of

networking concepts, protocols, and cloud networking

.

Experience configuring and managing

next-generation firewalls

, preferably Palo Alto Networks, including security policies, threat prevention, and network segmentation.

Knowledge of database management systems such as

MSSQL, MariaDB, and NoSQL databases

.

Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Good communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Good to Have

Relevant cloud certifications such as

AWS Certified Solutions Architect

or

Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert

.

Network security certifications such as

Palo Alto Networks Certified Network Security Engineer (PCNSE)

.

Experience with monitoring, observability, and logging tools such as

Grafana or Dynatrace

.

Experience in infrastructure and application performance tuning and optimisation.

Prior experience supporting

business-critical or mission-critical applications

.

Familiarity with

Singapore Government IM8 guidelines

or similar technology governance and security standards.
