Wintel Engineer – (Cloud Exp)

Role Summary

Hands-on

Wintel / Windows Infrastructure Engineer

with SME-level Workplace Management support.

Responsible for

Windows endpoint/server management, imaging, patching, software deployment, and cloud infrastructure .

Strong focus on

AWS/Azure, automation, troubleshooting, and operational efficiency .

Key Responsibilities

1. Windows & Workplace Management

Install, configure, test and maintain

Windows endpoints, servers and images .

Manage

OS, applications, drivers, upgrades, updates and hotfixes .

Create/update

PC images and OS deployment task sequences .

Support Workplace Management tools such as

HCL BigFix, SCCM, Citrix VDI, Nexthink .

2. Patch & Software Management

Plan and manage

Patch Management .

Handle

Software Distribution

for desktops and servers.

Manage application packaging and deployment.

Perform QA testing for endpoint changes.

3. Microsoft Infrastructure

Strong administration of: Windows ServerActive DirectoryPowerShellGroup Policy / GPO

Troubleshoot desktop/server escalations and infrastructure issues.

4. AWS / Azure Cloud

Design, deploy and manage

AWS or Azure infrastructure .

Experience with services such as:AWS

EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, Lambda, IAM Azure

App Services, SQL Database, Functions

Ensure

scalability, security and high availability .

Troubleshoot cloud infrastructure, connectivity and applications.

5. Automation & DevOps

Implement

Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)

using

Terraform / CloudFormation .

Support

CI/CD pipelines and Git .

Develop automation using

PowerShell, Python, Shell

or similar.

Improve operational efficiency through automation.

6. Backup, DR & Security

Implement

backup and disaster recovery

strategies.

Apply cloud networking and security best practices.

Must-Have Requirements

5+ years

experience in:Windows ServerActive DirectoryPowerShellGroup Policy/GPOWorkplace Management tools

Strong experience in

PC Imaging, Patch Management & Software Distribution .

Hands-on experience with

SCCM / BigFix / Citrix VDI / Nexthink

or similar.

Strong

Windows Installer/MSI, application packaging and deployment

knowledge.

Strong

AWS or Azure

infrastructure experience.

Knowledge of

Terraform or CloudFormation .Networking and cloud security knowledge.

Strong troubleshooting and communication skills.

Good-to-Have

Python/Shell scripting

CI/CD & Git

AWS/Azure certifications

MSI application packaging

Experience working in

heterogeneous IT environments
