Senior Field Application Engineer

JOB PURPOSE:

The Senior Field Application Engineer (SFAE) at Future Electronics will be responsible for providing applications and design solutions to our customer base. This role leverages design experience and product knowledge gained through training sessions held by manufacturers partnered with Future Electronics. The primary focus is to increase market share by offering technical support, promoting products, and optimizing designs to meet customer needs.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:

Primary Functions:

Represent Future Electronics' interests at all technical levels, offering the necessary support to ensure customers associate FE with their projects, thus increasing the likelihood of securing identified opportunities.

Collaborate with Sales, Product Marketing, and Suppliers to identify the best-suited products for the customer base, and to determine which target markets to focus on. Promote these products through application examples, demonstrations, and design-ins.

Maintain accurate customer information in the technical database (CRM), allowing opportunities to be tracked and completed successfully.

Perform associative selling by designing in as many devices as possible for particular designs, capturing the most components within the Bill of Materials (BOM).

Provide technical support in hardware/firmware design, product recommendations, and design optimization to help customers increase their profitability.

Secondary Functions:

Assist in maintaining manufacturers' design registration schemes, securing Future Electronics' commercial position within the customer base and ensuring eligibility for design incentive bonuses.

Provide training for FE's sales force and product marketing teams to improve technical product and application knowledge.

Engage in a dynamic, results-driven environment, requiring a self-motivated team player with a willingness to learn and continuously adapt.

CREDENTIALS:

Qualifications:

A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering.

Strong system and device knowledge of semiconductor products, with proficiency in FPGA, Embedded x86 being advantageous.

At least 3 years of hands-on experience in hardware/firmware/RTL design, preferably within one of the following product categories: FPGA, Embedded x86.

Experience:

3 years of relevant experience in the relevant product category or field of hardware/firmware/ RTL design, preferably within one of the following product categories: FPGA & Embedded x86

Competencies:

Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to confidently present ideas to customer engineers and technical managers.

Commercial awareness and understanding of how designs impact customers' profitability.

Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and efficiently allocate resources.

Capable of making decisions on design optimizations and effectively utilizing company resources.

Willingness to escalate issues that go beyond the FAE's scope, providing support internally and externally as needed.
