The intern will support the Process Engineering team in developing, analyzing, and improving manufacturing processes related to wire crimping and/or other process required. The role is structured as an on-the-job training (OJT) program with strong emphasis on process planning, Six Sigma methodology, and data-driven problem solving.

Intern will perform in the following area

Assist in documenting end-to-end wire crimping process flows, including material handling, tooling, crimp application, and inspection steps.

Support process planning activities such as design of experiment (DOE), work instruction development, and standard operating procedure (SOP) updates.

Collect process data (e.g. crimp height, pull-out force, defect types) and perform basic statistical analysis under guidance.

Introduced to six sigma methodology following DMAIC methodology to identify variation sources and improvement opportunities in process

Assist engineers in evaluating crimping tools, applicators, and terminals, including understanding tooling setup and adjustment principles.

Test and validate joint quality as required to evaluate process capability

Support root cause analysis activities using tools such as Pareto charts, Fishbone diagrams, and 5-Why analysis.

Prepare summary reports, charts, and presentations to communicate findings and recommendations.

Job Requirements*

Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical, Mechatronics & robotics, Manufacturing, or equivalent).

Interest in process improvement, Six Sigma, and hands-on manufacturing environments.

Able to work with data using basic tools such as Microsoft Excel (charts, formulas, statistical analysis)

Good documentation skills and attention to detail.
