System Manager

Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced system manager to lead the administration, maintenance, and enhancement of enterprise IT infrastructure.

The role is responsible for managing a team of system engineers, ensuring high system availability, overseeing infrastructure upgrades, driving operational excellence, and providing technical leadership across Windows, VMware, networking, and security environments.

Mandatory Skill-set

Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, IT, Computer Engineering, or related field

Has 6+ years of hands-on systems infrastructure experience with 3+ years leading a team of at least 3 system engineers

Strong administration of Windows Server 2019+, Windows 11, Active Directory (GPO, OU, and user administration), and Microsoft SQL Server 2019+

Hands-on experience with VMware ESXi, vCenter, vSAN, NSX, virtualization, and infrastructure upgrades

Experience in Windows patch management (WSUS), Windows CA/SSL Certificates, antivirus solutions (Symantec SEP/SEPM, Trellix ePO), and backup & recovery

Good understanding of networking (Layer 2/3, routing, IPSec VPN), security concepts (PAM, EDR, RSA), and centralized logging tools (Splunk, Syslog)

Experience managing enterprise infrastructure projects, system upgrades, and change management

Strong troubleshooting, problem-solving, and technical leadership skills with the ability to mentor engineers.

Desired Skill-set

Exposure to cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or hybrid environments).

Responsibilities

Lead and manage a team of system engineers, providing technical guidance and operational oversight

Manage system availability, preventive maintenance, health checks, and monthly operational reporting

Plan and execute infrastructure upgrades, including servers, operating systems, VMware, network devices, and COTS platforms

Review, assess, and implement system changes, ensuring proper impact analysis, testing, and rollback planning

Troubleshoot and resolve complex infrastructure, server, virtualization, and network-related issues

Administer and maintain Windows Servers, Active Directory, Microsoft SQL Server, VMware, and security infrastructure

Oversee patch management, SSL certificate lifecycle, antivirus management, backup & recovery, and centralized logging

Ensure infrastructure security, compliance, system performance, and adherence to operational best practices.
